About Us
Our Power
We believe in story telling as a powerful tool for addressing legal barriers and promoting social inclusion. Women are faced with significant stigma and discrimination, often exacerbated by cultural norms and legal framework that criminalizes women especially sex workers and further marginalizes us into an ecosystem that infringes our rights as citizens and residents of the Coast and Kenya as a whole. This marginalization leads to vulnerabilities including limited access to health care, legal protection and social services. Sharing our personal stories allows us to humanize experiences, challenging prevailing stereotypes and misconceptions about women and sex work.
By amplifying our voices, story telling fosters understanding of empathy within the broader community paving the way for social change. The Her Story, My story, our story initiative empowers women to advocate for themselves and each other, build solidarity within the community, fostering networks of support that can lead to collective action.
